Ties Never Broken Milestones

Since our January 2011 Annual Heritage Awards Dinner we have accomplish a great deal of work:

  • In January we hosted our first annual Heritage Award Dinner with Keynote Speaker; Pastor Tre Staton, Special Guests; Joshua DuBois (White House), John Amos, Dr. Jeff Gardere and several of our board members and partners in Harlem, New York.
  • Received proclamations from several cities in support of the Year of Responsible Men (New York City and State; Los Angeles, Washington DC, Milwaukee and Albany, NY.
  • William Malcolm Collection and Alex O. Ellis has designed six (6) exclusive Bow Ties for the “Ties Never Broken” Campaign
  • Crestline Promotions donated the plate cost for the design of the bow tie lapel pin. Two pin have now been produced and the response has been overwhelming. Over 900 pins distributed since Fathers Day.
  • The Ties Never Broken Declaration has been written by my wife; Tracy Braswell and it is now on the accompanying postcard for the lapel pin and a poster has been developed and waiting production (pending funding)
  • Choppa and Sons & Empire Christian Center donated the space of their business and church to conduct photo shoots to garner images for the Ties Never Broken Campaign.
  • El Wise Noisette and Lynda Jones donated their time to talents to conduct the photo shoot (a few others are planned)
  • Several Social marketing images celebrating Fathers Day was developed and distributed via Facebook…Hundreds of people used the icons as their Profile Picture to celebrate Fathers Day.
  • KISS FM and HOT97 in New York City ran Public Service Announcements for over two months celebrating YORM
  • Two Fatherhood Posters were developed and distributed in Albany, New York to test response. The response was tremendous; we completely ran out of posters. New ones will be produced (pending funding)
  • Fathers Incorporated along with the Urban Leadership Institute’s Raising Him Alone Campaign teamed up to promote the “Day of Amnesty for Dads” the day sought to encourage fathers who have not been in the lives of their children to finds ways to re-establish relationships. David Miller and I conducted several national and local radio interviews.
  • A “Ties Never Broken” Promo was development and is now circulating via YouTube
  • Tonia Grady of GradyGirl Productions is in the process of completing three (3) fatherhood public service announcements for television. It is our intent to use our networks to push these PSA to go Viral. More PSAs are in development and conceptual stages.
  • CareFronting-Nigeria has hosted both a press conference in January and a Fathers Day roundtable in Barnawa, Nigeria. We seek to continue to build the capacity of Maji in Nigeria to continue his work
  • YORM partners in Washington, DC (100 Fathers Inc.) and in Louisville, Kentucky (COPES) have planned and conducted several events in support of YORM
  • Secured a Television show on Timewarner (Albany) called “Dads Eye View”
  • Established a BlogTalk Radio Show and Website
  • We’re planning a 3on3 Classic Basketball tournament in Albany, New York entitled “Fathers, Families and Fun” as a fundraiser for FI and three other not-for-profits.
  • We have a dedicated Facebook page for the campaign: facebook.com/TiesNeverBroken
  • Welcomed Blackgivesback.com; Rant800.com and the Washington Informer as media sponsors
  • Conducted our first pinning ceremony at the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, KY
  • Announced Chris Broussard as the National Spokesperson for the TIE NEVER BROKEN Campaign
  • Conducted our first corporate fundraiser in New York City
  • Created TIES NEVER BROKEN ministries.
